Dave Rhys Jenkins
Over the last 30 years or so, Dave has written full length plays, one man shows, hundreds of sketches for different organisations, pantomimes as well as writing and directing several short films. Dave loves to write!
Having a 9 year old daughter, called Hannah in the house (as of the time of writing - she is now 10!) Dave was inspired to write something that his little girl and other children could enjoy. Dave also wanted to produce writing that didn’t have to wait for actors, a stage and an audience for it to be appreciated.
Dave wanted to write something that could be read out loud, or to oneself, and inspire a child’s imagination. Something inspiring, uplifting, funny and just a bit magical. That's how THE HANNAH STORIES came about.
The stories were a lot of fun to write, Dave wanted to come up with titles that would be interesting and memorable for a younger audience. He soon realised that the Alphabet would be an interesting template for the sequence of the stories.
One “blurb” that came to mind when finishing all 26 stories was - Hannah gained the power to help other people. But we all have the power to do that. We just need to decide whether we’re going to use it or not?
